What happened
Lusail University has honoured Qatar’s General Tax Authority for its cooperation and participation in the university’s career fair. The Authority announced the recognition on 19 October 2026.
Mohammed Jassim Al-Najdi, the Authority’s Director of Human Resources, received the award on its behalf.
The award was handed over at a ceremony for the fair’s participants and for organisations that provide field training. The university thanked them for helping students and graduates get ready to enter the job market.

What it means for you
The news does not change any tax rule, rate or deadline in Qatar. It concerns the Authority’s outreach to students and graduates.
The Authority said the fair aimed to introduce students and graduates to its role and to career opportunities in the tax sector, helping to attract national talent. It added that it is committed to strengthening cooperation with academic institutions and building links with graduates, so they can contribute to the tax sector and the national economy.
For Indians living in Qatar, there is no direct impact from this announcement.
Background
The honour follows the Authority’s participation in Lusail University’s two-day career fair. We covered that participation earlier in Qatar’s tax authority joins Lusail University career fair.
