What happened
Infosys reported a 6% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹7,823 crore for the second quarter of FY27 (July to September 2026), against ₹7,364 crore a year earlier. The results came on Friday, 23 October, after market hours.
The company also lowered its revenue growth guidance for FY27 to 1-2% in constant currency, from 1.5-3% earlier. Constant currency strips out the effect of exchange-rate swings, so it shows underlying growth. Infosys, as reported by the Economic Times, pointed to a challenging demand environment. It kept its operating margin guidance at 20-22% for the year.

- Revenue from operations: ₹49,244 crore, up about 11% year-on-year, according to Economic Times and Business Today.

Deals, AI and segments

Revenue from AI services rose 29% from the previous quarter and made up 10.5% of total revenue.
Life sciences grew 32.5% in constant currency, while hi-tech fell 17.3% and retail fell 7.7%. Financial services grew 2.1%. North America, which contributed 54.6% of revenue, declined 1.5%, while Europe grew 4.6%.

What it means for you
If you hold Infosys shares directly or through a mutual fund, the key points are the lower growth outlook and the dividend. Guidance is the company’s own forecast, so a cut signals slower expected revenue growth than before. Margins, though, were held steady.
The board declared an interim dividend of ₹26 per share, up from ₹23 a year earlier. Shareholders on record as of 3 November 2026 are eligible, and payment is due on 11 November 2026. For example, someone holding 100 shares would be entitled to ₹2,600 before any tax.
Infosys shares settled 0.30% higher at ₹1,154.50 on Friday, according to Business Today. The results were announced after market hours.
